A Smart Link can be sent to an internal HowNow Online user to enable them to easily access a document from outside of HowNow Online.


Find

Use Find to copy a link to the clipboard and then paste the link into a document or email to an internal employee. The employee can then click on the link to be taken to this document in HowNow Online.


Find and Download

Use Find and Download to copy a link to the clipboard and then paste the link into a document or email to an internal employee. The employee can then click on the link to be taken to this document in HowNow Online and the file will automatically download.


Find and Edit

Use Find and Edit to copy a link to the clipboard and then paste the link into a document or email to an internal employee. The employee can then click on the link to be taken to this document in HowNow Online and the file will automatically open to be edited.


There are two options for using a Smart Link.


1. go to the >Documents tab, select the document you wish to link to, click on the >More Actions dots, then choose Find, Find and Download or Find and Edit.

Now Paste the link to the location/email/document required. 

When the User clicks on the link they will be taken to HowNow Online where the document will be shown in the grid. The document will also Download if that option was chosen, or open to edit if Edit if chosen.


2. Go to the >Documents tab, select the document you wish to link to, click on the >More Actions dots, click on >Information, click on one of the 'Copy To Clipboard' buttons beside the Find, Find and Download or Find and Edit fields.

Now Paste the link to the location/email/document required.

When the User clicks on the link they will be taken to HowNow Online where the document will be shown in the grid. The document will also Download or Edit if that option was chosen.




NOTE:

Users must have a user-id and password to HowNow Online to be able to access the document.
